What does SafeEntry actually do?

SafeEntry is a digital check-in system which logs a persons entry into a venue. The SafeEntry system allows a business to check-in an unlimited number of visitors at their premises and also verifies the visitor's details. SafeEntry is a web-app that can be accessed by anyone and completely automates the COVID19 contact tracing process. Businesses and visitors get notified instantly if they have had contact with COVID19.

Why can't I download the app from the Apple App store or Google Play App store?

The app is a Web-app and cannot be downloaded. As a Web-app, it runs in your web browser and does not require operating system updates. Great! What's more, the Web-app operates just like any other app, providing the same user experience and functionality!

What is a Web-app?

Simply put, a Web-app is a website that is designed fluidly, responding to being viewed on a smartphone. Web-apps, specifically, function like downloadable apps, but all from the comfort of your phone’s browser.
Unlike Mobile apps, Web-apps are accessed via the internet browser and will adapt to whichever device you’re viewing them on. They are not native to a particular system, and don’t need to be downloaded or installed. Due to their responsive nature, they do indeed look and function a lot like mobile apps. However, Web-apps will update themselves.

How much does SafeEntry cost?

For businesses that would like to register a venue or location, the cost is $29 per month on a subscription plan cancel anytime. The cost is $19 per month for a 3 month subscription. A business can cancel their subscription anytime by deleting the location within the app.

How are payment details stored?

The SafeEntry website and Web-app do not store, process or transmit credit card details, which is important for compliance with Payment Card Industry data Security Standard (PCI-DSS) requirements. When making a purchase, your payment details are encrypted and transmitted via secure sockets layer (SSL) to the PCI compliant payment provider Stripe. Not only does SafeEntry not have access to your payment details, your payment details do not hit our servers at all!

Where is visitor data stored?

The data is stored for a time-limited period on a secure server in Australia.

How long is the data stored?

The health status updates and check-in data are stored for a period of 60 days.

Where do I receive the notifications?

You will receive notifications re COVID-19 contact within the Web-app. Simply go the the Alerts tab (bell icon) on the bottom right hand corner of the Web-app home screen.

How many locations can I register and how?

You can register an unlimited number of locations (venues). Simply go to the Location Manager (second tab) on the home screen of the Web-app.
This is especially useful for businesses who want to guarantee Safe Entry, Safe Contact and Business Continuity!

How often do I need to update my Health Status?

The app will prompt you to update your health status every 24 hours. Updating your health status will enable you to check-in to venues.

What is a Web-app?

Does the app use Bluetooth?

No, SafeEntry does not use or require Bluetooth. Remember, we value your privacy, so there is no need to turn on Bluetooth or worry about the collection of undisclosed data.

Do you track my location?

No. We do not collect data about your GPS location or extract geolocation metadata.
Whilst you have the option to register locations on the app including location address and postcode, SafeEntry does not automatically collect data about your GPS location.

What kind of data does SafeEntry store?

The only identity data we store is:

  • Your mobile number (optional)

  • A random anonymised Unique ID e.g. 9I8VPeQeWDofj39c8dPySoUXLqh2


When you sign up, a random Unique ID is generated and associated with your mobile number (if provided). Both the mobile number and Unique ID are stored in a secure server, and never shown to the public or shared with any other user or third-party service or organisation. Furthermore, the data encrypted in QR codes does not reveal personal identities.

Where is my data stored?

The data is stored for time-limited period on a secure server in Australia.

How long is the data stored?

The health status updates and check-in data are stored for a period of 60 days.

What is a Unique ID and why do I need one?

A Unique ID is just that, a unique identification number that has been randomly generated at the point you register as a new user. If you choose to provide a mobile number, you will still be issued a Unique ID. The Unique ID will be associated with your mobile number. We use Unique IDs to protect your identity whilst you use the app to check in with other users. No personal information is ever exchanged or stored.

Where can I find my Unique ID?

Your Unique ID can be viewed under the Alerts tab (bell icon) on the home screen. You can also copy and save your Unique ID so you can always anonymously access your Web-app account.

Where do I receive the notifications?

You will receive notifications re COVID-19 contact within the Web-app. Simply go the the Alerts tab (bell icon) on the bottom right hand corner of the Web-app home screen.

Can I make the Health Declaration if I feel sick?

If you are experiencing symptoms associated with the cold and flu such as a runny nose, cough, sore throat, fever, body aches and difficulties breathing you can update your health declaration to reflect your current status. If you have travelled overseas the last 14 days or have been diagnosed with, or come into contact with, a COVID-19 infected person, you can also update your health declaration to reflect your current status. Whilst you will still be able to obtain a scan code, we recommend you check the guidelines outlined by the Australian government if you are to leave home.
